New ways to educate about disaster preparedness
Japan is unfortunately seeing more intense natural disasters due to climate change more often. It is a growing concern and social problem.
In light of this, Sompo Japan has launched a unique program called the Bousai JAPAN-DA Project. Sompo Japan operates the domestic property and casualty insurance business of the the Sompo Group and it is fitting that the company lead such an initiative. Bousai JAPAN-DA Project has activities like immersive workshops for disaster prevention and pupper shows that teach disaster preparedness to very young children. Leveraging our partnership, the Sompo Group and WE LEAGUE are promoting the importance of disaster preparedness through WE ACTION.
Joint effort with the clubs
WE LEAGUE strives to promote an inclusive society, filled with diverse dreams and ways of living, and where individuals can shine, through the power of women’s football and sports. Helping the league with its mission, the Sompo Group works with the different clubs through WE ACTION.

Some of the WE ACTION programs we had with the clubs were picked up by Aichi Television Broadcasting in their program, FOOT HOPEs. The program and the following videos are in Japanese, but they paint a good image of how important learning about disaster preparedness and behaviors in a fun way is.
A generation that’s better prepared
Through WE ACTION initiatives themed around disaster preparedness, we want to convey the importance of disaster readiness to the new generation who will shape the future. Looking to more collaboration with WE LEAGUE and the clubs, we also want to promote a mindset of “self-reliance” but also “mutual assistance” within communities in protecting against calamities and evacuating during disasters.
