Japan’s “three concerns” in a longevity society
To make longevity attainable for everyone, we at the Sompo Group have focused on resolving what we call the “three concerns” arising from a low birthrate and aging population.
- Health: Concerns about how long one’s “healthy life expectancy” will be.
- Caregiving: Anxieties about the future, such as “What will happen to me as I age?” and “How should I care for my parents?”
- Post-retirement finances: Fears of insufficient retirement funds and long-term financial strain.
Our commitment to the wellbeing business stems from a strong desire to relieve these concerns and help realize long, fulfilling lives.
Wellbio: The one-stop consultation service
Under the newly established SOMPO Wellbeing business segment, we have launched a one-stop solution service designed to address all three areas of concern.
The core of this initiative is “Wellbio,” a free consultation service that begins with support regarding caregiving. From there, consultants can seamlessly assist with related issues, such as retirement finances, real estate sales, dementia-prevention programs, and even lifestyle improvement, offering tailored, comprehensive guidance that reflects individual customer circumstances.

Leveraging our collective strengths

Sompo Care, our group company specializing in care services, provides a full lineup of offerings, from residential facilities to at-home support.
With Wellbio, consultations are handled by advisors with extensive on-the-ground experience at Sompo Care. This ability to translate real-world caregiving expertise into practical, holistic solutions is a unique strength of the Sompo Group.
