About WE LEAGUE<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Launched in September 2021, WE LEAGUE is the country\u2019s first fully professional women\u2019s football league.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The name WE LEAGUE (Women Empowerment LEAGUE) embodies the aspiration to establish “professional women’s football player” as a recognized profession in Japan and to give everyone involved with the league (\u201cWE\u201d) the opportunity to thrive also as central personalities in society.<\/p>\n\n\n

The WE League\u2019s aim of realizing a society where everyone can shine as their true selves through football resonates with us, and this video is one way we are showing our support for the players, staff, and all fans and supporters. Using actual footage from the games, the video expresses the diverse individuality of everyone involved through illustrations and the team colors of the 12 clubs in the league. The video is also featured at WE League matches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The catchphrase \u201cKick out those preconceptions\u201d embodies the Sompo Group\u2019s strong commitment to breaking down societal prejudices and working with others to strive for a \u201cfuture of health, wellbeing and financial protection.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
